I am considering bying the Sentry helmet and was wondering, will I be able to wear Peltor Comtacs under the Sentry helmet, or wont they fit in there? If they wont, will they with the rail adaptors? The Sentry has that lowish cut, which is why I am wondering. Help appreciated.

The biggest pain with ear pro on stock ops core is the occ dial. You can weave the ear pro through but they kinda gotta stay with the helmet. With the high cuts it's easy to put on and take off with ear pro inside since there's room for ear pro to move out of the way of your ears. With the sentry, it might be a little snug putting on and off and trying to make sure you can open enough to slide your head and ears in. Now if you change the liner to like a Wendy pad set up, then you can just put ear pro on and then helmet on top. I've never tried it with a sentry but with mich2002 and even 2000 it works fine.

Now with the arc rail adapters, I have seen then used on mich2002 and it works. They don't just pop on ears and pop off as easily though. There's tricks to get them to slide up under helmet ear and pop on/off. Not sure how much overhang difference there is in the ears though, if that will be as viable and option though

I guess the ARC adapter/mid cut helmet combo is a hit or miss depending on head size and position relative to the ears.
On a side note I believe Ops-core RAC earpro system is designed to integrated seamlessly with a Sentry, but this is gonna cost you a fortune... when it is available too.

Head size/shape is key. And ultimately it's a just gotta try thing. I know a guy whose done several deployments with a 2000 cut helmet with peltors where he removed the headband and had Velcro on them and matching Velcro in the ears of helmet. He'd just stick them to ears and slide helmet on. Had the right shape and sized head that everything was snug but not too tight.

Ok, I am going to find someone with a sentry to try first. Its too expensive to buy and try it, unfortunately.

:D

I tried with the Sentry helmet of a buddy, it worked, though its really tight around the head. I am not sure, if you can wear that combibnation for more than a couple hours without getting a hell of headaches.
