Can anyone shed some light on this Crye CPC? I got it from a good friend who got it from a Dam Neck guy who retired. It appears to be a mix-matched set. The rear plate bag appears to be a NCPC bag since it does not have Velcro. I know the front panel is a normal CPC because of the vertical webbing strips. Ive never had a CPC or NCPC in my hands so i do not know much about them. Any ideas?

I can't explain the absence of velcro on the rear plate bag - but other than that, everything looks like a bog standard Crye CPC.

For reference, the NCPC has a skeletonized cummerbund.
Du you have a date of manufacture for your rig? Could it just be an older CPC made before they added velcro to the rear plate bag?

I dont see any tags other than the small green size tags. Is there a larger tag hidden someplace usually?

Also whats the deal with the webbing on the MBITR pouches? From what ive read and seen, normal CPC's didnt have webbing on them, only NCPC's

And i seem to remember someone selling an authentic AOR1 NCPC with the normal cummerbund a while back

To be honest, I have no idea - but depending on what unit this came out of, it isn't unrealistic that it has been ordered with some custom modifications.

Yup thats what im thinking. Im leaning more towards a very early gen of the NCPC. It has features of both NCPC and the CPC and i know its authentic. The guy has some crazy old gear, including some of those Crye AOR1 frag pouches that supposedly came with the AOR1 NCPC's... Still digging through kit bags so who knows what ill find haha

Besides the lack of velcro, what makes it NCPC ish?

I don't see anything worthy of calling that "early NCPC" besides the desire to fetch more on resale

As Pkekyo said, at best it's a slightly altered CPC that might have been a custom order from that unit.

i see what you're saying. I was just asking because two features of the NCPC are present on this rig, the missing velcro on the back plate bag and the molle webbing on the mbitr pouch. I was never saying it was a NCPC. its just different then all the ones ive seen online. Anyways thanks for the info
