Hello everyone! Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for helping!

I am currently looking for a plate carrier that is very small. I am a short dude - 170cm (roughly 5ft 6). I want to wear a PC and a battle belt, so you can imagine at this height there is not really much space on the torso. I want to also be able to bend forward while wearing this setup, LOL.

Am currently running a high-ride LWMS chest-rig, with my molle battle belt. Canteen pouch on the belt starting to annoy me, because along with the (3xAK) mags and the pistol, it adds extra weight on my hips. After some time, I can feel the belt "digging" in my flesh. Thinking of using a molle camelbak or anything that would move the water weight to the shoulders (without adding a second line of shoulder straps).

So please help a dwarf out! Smallest plate carriers! GO!

Crye's JPC size small is the only option
Friend of mine is the same height but 75Kgs, he's wearing size medium, and plate carrier doesn't look bulky on him

Close, I'm at 73kg atm.

Either way, is it just me, or the shoulder straps are not adjustable?

Roger that, thanks! If anyone else has a better idea, please share, otherwise, this would do the trick for me.

Paraclete makes/made short size versions of their carriers, if memory serves...

Duly noted. :)

Just bumped into some Condor PCs, and they seem insanely affordable. Anyone used them? Opinions?

LBT 6094A and the like are rather short, but not as much as a medium JPC (a small one maybe a bit too small for you).

It all depends on how you are built for a given size (tall legs and short torso or the opposite).

For instance, I am 176 (so not a lot taller than you), and have very long legs.
BALCS cut carriers in medium size are OK without a belt but a PITA with a battle belt when I bend forward. A friend of mine of the exact same size has no problem due to him having short legs.

Anyway, a 6094A (and even more a med JPC) leaves plenty of room on my waist for a battle belt, and I still have a decent gap between the belt and the carrier whatever my stance.

Definitely the way to investigate.

XPX (real Paraclete) Plate Carrier. It's basically two sapi plates covered in nylon and pals webbing.
I'd dare to say it's even lower profile than a JPC.

Plus, the JPC is less wide, only 3 mags on the front, versus the 6094 that has space for 4. Which is just fine for me, I only carry 6 mags, 5+1 loaded.

What size are your plates? Go with a carrier that fits those...

And the Condor you posted is a M (possibly a L) in size.

Stay away from Condor.

I'm roughly the same size as you. A small JPC works well. Hell, even the much bulkier RBAV works (it's a S with M plates in it).

The keys, for me:
- Adjust your carrier well. Make sure the plates are at the right height. (I'd make that blink if I could)
- Chose a belt with low ride. For comparison, the Crye MRB over any of their other belts. Alternatively (my personal choice), a good duty belt with MOLLE panels or the Tyr Gunfighter.
- Only place pouches on your belt on the sides and the rear. Nothing on the front - these would surely impede movement.

Or just rethink your setup and avoir belts altogether.

I'm 178cm (5'10") and skinny (M plates), and I decided that I couldn't really use a belt. I could probably do a slight drop thing from my pants belt (like the CDH tac low ride panel or those Costa things) if needed, but it's not.

With small plates I'm basically not wearing any armor. Could probably wear a belt along with a pc tho I)

Amen to that first part! Mags on the left, dump left back side, pistol on the right. On the front I only have a very small grenade pouch in which I keep a well folded reflective vest. What I have on the back is mainly items I dont need quick access to, such as water, twinky bar etc ;)

I've been thinking of avoiding molle belts tbh, and wearing my dump pouch and pistol on my pants belt, it's an idea.

Also, thanks everyone for the valuable input! Yesterday was my first day on this forum and already so much help!

LE: Holy crap, just did a google search and the Tyr gunfighter is awesome as all fucks!
