not impressed with quality?
Yes, I know, it depends on product,
I have a smock from them, made in Sri-Lanka, bad stitching
Have their cap, pretty good,
My friends bought some pants, and pouches, quality is great

Maxpedition isn't U.S. made?? I was told they were by a backpacker buddy. He bragged about their high American quality. I'll need to let him know. I know wonder if their gear is overpriced. I accepted their prices thinking they were "American made".

Edit: I spoke with my buddy and he said he knew Maxpeditions stuff was sewn overseas, but that he still considered it American because it was an American company producing high quality product. Who did the sewing didn't matter to him. He kinda has a point. It's definitely not the same as non-American companies like Condor, Flyye and VooDoo. But still not "Made in America". Side thought, I've heard some say they will only buy Condor's "Made in America" gear, yet the company itself is not American. Eh, I'm thinking too much on this. lol

Maxpedition is made in China and designed by an ex Taiwanese SWAT personal.

Ex-Taiwanese SWAT??

Here's an excerpt from their website.
"A true story of the American dream, Maxpedition® is the brainchild of founder and CEO Tim Tang, who in 2003 dropped out of medical school to start his own company in his parent's garage. Ten years (and several progressively larger warehouses) later, Maxpedition is now thriving in its own Los Angeles-based corporate and distribution compound."

Just going from what the guy with the business card said. For all I know the Chinese characters could have said" this card is a lie". I take things at face value till proven otherwise and my good sir you have done so. Therefore, I was fooled.

Interesting. I wonder what was up with that. When I was first introduced to Maxpedition, it was through a hiking community and my impression was that it was some hiker who came up with his/her own designed stuff. Later I saw former military using their gear as non-tactical looking BOBs and hiking packs. I didn't think much of them until I was introduced to the Condor Deployment bag and then also the VooDoo 3-way Deployment bag and liked the idea of them and thought about getting one like that myself, but I wanted American made. Found out Maxpedition had their Proteus (and probably the original designer) and picked one up. Now I find out it's made in Taiwan. But looks like it was my best option anyway. Talk about making a short story long! lol

Maxpedition is definitely made overseas, and has been for a long time.
