At the mall today the USAF recruiters had a mannequin dressed in full battle multicam with a PJ IR patch out front. I'll see if I can get a pic of it if anyone is interested.

But why I mention it is that three things stood out to me. The plate carrier looked like a multicam MBAV. I wasn't aware of MBAVs being in multicam.

Second, it had a quad dual-mag shingle (8 M-4 mags) across the front. I had never seen quad before.

And third, the combat shirt was a coyote brown color in the torso and the elbows had a ridged almost plastic looking layer. Does that shirt sound familiar to anyone?

Just wondering if this display might have very new equipment that is not issued in mass yet.

After going back and taking my time to look, you could very well be right Fish. The helmet is totally fake and not even a good airsoft fake. But some gear just looks too different, at least to me. Here are some pics.

I am not that familiar with Condor's line, nor TruSpec, but after a quick Google search, I see it now. The quad-magazine pouch in the front doesn't seem to match Condor's style though.

What a shame that recruiters would not display real gear. Probably due to inventory control reasons though.

I am no gear expert if that's what you mean. When in the service (11 years total) I only was issued standard G.I. gear. I'm learning, through this forum mainly, about all the kinds of different gear issued to and used by USSOCOM units. I am so unfamiliar with the look of various gear that I can't really tell on the surface real deal vs knockoff stuff (obviously), but I'm learning, thanks in large part to the fine members of this forum. :D

I was refering to the limited fucks that recruiters give about anything and the separation between them ad anyone active duty.

I get what you're saying. I have noted the recruitment is like it's own branch of the service. I've most recently been in the National Guard and I think the recruiters aren't as bad there. It is sad though how recruitment can be so separated from the branches they're recruiting for.

I am shocked they even set up a visual display with the current budget and looming cuts. I recruited in some years ago and those bastards wouldn't even give you the time of day let alone perform physical work putting together a promotional display.
