I was wondering, team medics probably wear tactical gloves like the rest of the guys, but when they have to work on a casualty, what do they do?
Work in their tactical gloves? Remove their gloves and put on disposable ones?

I've been wondering for a while, so hopefully somebody can answer this! :p

Depends.

If it is a buddy, as in a fellow Norwegian soldier, I will not take the time to put on disposable gloves.

If treating a host nation soldier or local national I will put on disposable gloves.

I am not taking any chances. So, the tactical gloves come off. I need better tactile sensation than tactical gloves will provide. Disposable glove use depends on pt.

I wear them under tactical gloves so no problem with changing the gloves...I did it during last TC3 course and work fine for me.

I'm a huge fan of Mechanix 0.5mm work gloves on patrol but carry pockets full of nitrile/latex for switching out when I have the time and safety to treat a shipmates wounds. Whether I have to stick or cut you, I'd prefer to have more dexterity with my hands by removing working gloves if the situation allows. I completed four operational tours overseas as well as visiting 17 other foreign countries for work/training in the field.
