The price of the JPC is a bit lower than what it was listed as on OPT's site and their side plate options look to be competitively priced too. $210-360 for an engineered PC seems to be the standard these days (PIG, Mayflower APC, 6094, JPC) and it falls at the lower 1/3 or at the upper 1/3 depending on the side plate pockets.

The CPC looks interesting with its many options, but at over $700 for a PC sans armor, I'm wondering if they're selling the Crye mystique more than the nylon. Do you have any thoughts on this, Frogfish, regarding the benefits of the CPC?

-Vic

*edit*

Also, I've been meaning to ask those who may have had the chance to examine the G3 uniforms in person their thoughts on them compared to the AC (gen 2) line up.

The CPC is very expensive for what it is, however what I feel you are getting is a CAGE Chassis "lite" as it is able to take almost all up-armored parts from the CAGE, which the JPC can't.

With the way I use it, I think a JPC would have been a better choice, but I feel this has more MOLLE real estate than my JPC did by far. I do love it, it's very light with no plates in it and it rides very well with a good amount of weight in it, the STKSS aren't too cumbersome but the are a little awkward at first. But still other than the Crye name I'm not entirely sure I would have spent the same money if it was from another company.

That is because of (the lack of) Crye's dealer pricing. It is something pitiful like 5% off on orders $2000 and over.

Yes, slightly. They changed their supplier for that fabric.

Have you owned a Gen 2 combat shirt? The fabric on the Torso is really pure and nothing compared to how Gen 1 is .. Gen3 seems to be thicker and better materials.

Ya I have the gen2, I like it. The elbow pads can heat up pretty bad with that elastic arm strap though.
