When I read the headline, I instantly thought "this is why we can't have nice things".
But if it is correct that this will result in a common camouflage pattern/family for all DoD forces, that's a huge benefit compared to what's going on today - the Army wanting Multicam, the Marines having "Marpat 2.0" in the works, the Navy faffing about with AOR and who the hell knows what the Airforce is up to.

That article is unsubstantiated. SSD has better coverage.

I think the right way would be to use MultiCam in every part of the US Military! There already is a lot of equipment in MultiCam, so why should they buy new gear? They have to save money, so i think they will go this direction!

Multicam is over 10 years old. All final camouflages that were in recent Army competition should be better than multicam.

Spending money keeps the economy going, and the defense budget is pretty vast.
All that green has to be used in some way.

Probably old news for those here by now, but in case not, the Army has officially chosen the Scorpion pattern to replace UCP.

 wow, all this hype and once again they use the same thing they've always done; pick multi cam (basically). Glad the whole "new camo" hype is over with, at least for now.
