They're sized for skinny dudes. I regret not buying a size up.

Im a skinny dude. So I might go large in the Alpha jacket to allow for layers.

Also consider your height and the length of the sleeves, you can reference against the sizing charts.

Don't know about UK sizing, but compared to european sizing, they do run larger (think US larger). I run european XL jackets but still go with Large in Arc'teryx sizing.
However, compared to other US brands, they are a little bit smaller due to their Athletic cut.

I would advise you try an outdoor jacket first (easily found in most sport shops) as their sizing is pretty consistent.

Also, take into account that most of their jackets are already cut with layering in mind, so unless you do some arctic expedition stuff, you'd be better off sticking to your normal size.

Note that LEAF ones are generally sized larger than civilian ones as well, so take that in mind. Not by much, but still to keep in mind.

I mostly have experience with their civilian line who sizing is consistent with other top outdoors brands like Rab or OR, with athletic cuts so a bit roomier around the chest/shoulders and slimmer at the waist than general-purpose brands.
