Any specific reason you believe it's not Crye?

It would be good to know, since a few of us Kiwi's have been speculating that it is.

My quick observations,

1. On the Crye Combat Pants, the immediete area around the knee pads is constructed with a multicam fabric.

The Gen 1 Combat Pants had 500d Multicam Cordura around the knee pads

The Gen 2 Combat Pants has the same fabric as the pants around the knee pads.

If you look at the this pic http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm19 ... c/sasE.jpg you can see that the area around the knee pads is khaki/Coyote Tan (note I'm not talking about the stretch panel but literally the material on the immediete outside of the knee pad).

2. The Knee Pads have the sideways "engraving" for lack of a better word on them, which are very similar to (if they aren't) the "OPS" branded knee pads seen here http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php?pa ... t&Itemid=3

When I first saw the knee pads I assumed they were the OPS pants, I checked out the offerings from "OPS" which are

"OPS Ultimate Direct Action Pants"

http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php?pa ... t&Itemid=3

and

"OPS Integrated Battle Pants"

http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php?pa ... t&Itemid=3

but if you look closely and compare, they are different, like the Crye Combat Pants, the OPS Pants also have a Multicam fabric around the knee pads.

There are a few other companies now who are making there own uniforms which are similar to the Crye Uniform's so it could be any of them but I'm not too familiar with them.

Anyway, just my quick observations and more than happy to be proved wrong, only really started looking at the Crye stuff in the last 6 months or so ;)

Thanks for posting the pictures by the way.

Thanks for those observations.

I might however point out that in this shot:

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm19 ... 251456.jpg

It looks like a multicam surround, where the knee pads would be. Also, in the other shots, they're showing hooded jacket outers, not the combat shirts.

As for the velcro. It definitely looks more olive than tan. Those knee pads are not "crye", no.

I do wish I could find the source of that specific combination of components being worn though.

They were made by Platatac for the NZDF as a limited purchase trial. Group liked them so they took almost every set purchased with them.

This is the smock, its not listed as an item on the site that I can see http://www.platatac.com/specials/plat-a ... 6_1023895/

Hi there,

a friend is wondering about these spesific shirts they are wearing. The area around the shoulder has this weird padding, that none of use has seen before.

Thanks in advance.

What I don't like about their loadouts is that weird NVG mount.

It's too big and terribly ugly...

It's also for a very expensive NVG. :)
