Yes, the video also shows a guy holding what appears to be an L119A1 (UKSF Diemaco C8) with, it looks like, the stock tube broken off just behind the receiver....

Since this thread about SF K9, let me add my 5 cent on the subject. I've recently seen some high speed hybrid bread of dogs of the Russian Internal Troops. The bread is called Wolfdog (don't be confused with their Alaskan and Czech brothers) or Vokosob/Волкособ in Russian. It's really interesting piece of cake, for sure! In a nut shell they look 99% close to a wolf, have the same strength, speed and other features, yet they still obey commands from the master.

Some volkosobs trained to kill were used by Interior Troops in 99-00. They were used in sweep and counter ambush missions. The experiment was considered successful but wasn't continued for reasons unknown to me.

Probably because a Wolf is a Wolf and a dog is a dog. Yes they are very closely related but I am not going to believe the Mother Russia hype machine that they were able to actually train these things to the level of a real MWD. An attack dog with no other skills is a one trick pony.

I am with Fish - I dont understand why TV presenter is so excited. Performance of that creature is very slow and not impressive, I am sure the worst GSD or Mali will outperform it.

He's excited since he sees it in a real life and action as I did. I don't really get what kind of meaning you put in the word "impressive" according to this animal, but I've seen them both in action at the training yard and at the V-day parade in my town this year, and I ought to say they come off with flying colors. They stay calm while even whatchamacallit, ah hi-speed GSD's of the local VV battalion show fear of the volkosobs. So make sure to see them in action, it is going to dot your i's.

Have you got any proof on it? I really doubt they were used to eliminate in 99-00 because the selection was finished in early 2000's. Yet, I'm going to ask a real-deal K9 handler on it soon.

Check again yours video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r76nFVNgTJg

First attack of that creature (at 1:00) is slow by every standart. After capture it shows poor willing to fight/dominate decoy.

I am not impressed because I dont give a fuck about the look, yes its looks scary, but thats means nothing - there are alot of dog breeds which looks scary, but its only occupation is dog show...

This is what impressive for me -

If you have connections ask somebody from 33rd OBRON. In this unit dog handlers were attached to rifle companies. I don't know why they say that it's something new. AFAIK the practice of crossing dogs with wolves was even in the ancient times.
