Two guys in my unit had it issued overseas (both former 11B). I was just puzzeled by the large side plates. Always assumed it only took 6x6.

The quality of Condor gear is not always horrible, some products may be worse than others. When it may come to a life or death situation then it can definitely pay off to have gear of higher quality, it is the same for the life-span of the gear. Not all military personelle know about the differences in gear, even SOF, some people simply look at the prices and don't take note on the difference in quality. Condor is made of Cordura, which companies have used and still use as a sign quality, but stitching is often much more important than the fabric used.
