Great find! I now have an actual photo of the entry tool pouch in action.

I have a suspicion I'm going to try and verify with a friend, in photo 1 in the rear of the vehicle is a plain clothed male in a covert cap similar to what you see the SFOs from 19 wearing but with a reflective ARMY patch, then in another you can see a male in an AC900 and large pack, no visible (unless my eyes are that bad) long weapon,at the time of these photos I don't believe the AC900 was issued to 19

I'm going to get in touch and try to verify this but I suspect they're soldiers from 11 EOD regiment Alpha Troop.

Yep the ISPL were in use with police at the time, I have a photo from the same op just prior to entry on the balcony(not that one) I'll scan it soon as I can

Reexamining the photos, the person in the red shirtappears to me to have a bag I think contains ECM and is carrying a Sig on his thigh, little bit of educated guesswork and bad eyesight on my part

Looks more like a PRC-148 than an ECM.

Just noticed the Diemaco and ISPL vest with magazine pouches for M4 mags... Now it gets more interesting...

I did think that initially, but the pack seems far too large for just that, and no external pockets for ammo you can see it much clearer in this

Jack, there's a strong probability that at least some aren't Police the kit is all wrong for firearms officers in 05, the Bodyarmour is wrong the helmets are wrong, if my eyes are correct then the weaponry is wrong leading me to believe they're either an element of UKSF or IMHO more likely EOD techs

On the first picture you posted, with the red square, you can clearly see the connector of the CT5 PTT connected next to the antenna. So I'd say PRC-148 allong with unknown gear inside the bag.

Edit :

That's clearly a radio from this point of view

Same reason why soldiers sometimes have to operate in black kit matches the operation it maybe the unit in MC training in a urban setting deploy to rural areas where blackkit doesn't serve their purpose
