So once in a while I get bored from drawing environments and sci-fi on my computer and I sort of design camouflage patterns and other weird things, so I thought: "Hey concealment is a key part of a soldier's/sailor's/marine's/airman's/police officer's kit, why not post some of my stuff on Gearsoc!"

So if this is not a issue for the moderators nor the community I'll post some of my camouflage patterns (the ones I think that would actually work in reality) and if anyone else has something to contribute well have at thee.

An arid environment pattern to start:

Thanks I was going through some concept art I did for a friend and noticed I had a kind of beige distorted grassy camouflage on the fatigues of the trooper and that was sort of my redevelopment of the pattern, I liked how it turned out.

And here is something I'm working on because of a cool video game: my take of the Hex camo pattern used by the C.E.L.L contractors in Crysis 2 and Crysis 3. (This is still a WIP, digital patterns are hard to get to work properly)

Camo pattern I did with spray paint and modelling paint and a brush on my modified Cold Steel Kuhkri Sheath, that I like to call Multifleckcadmarcampatoflage©®™. I like the way the softer edges of the blobs and the harder edges of the pixels work together. Doing this was so much fun it's a strain not to go nuts and camo all my other stuff in my Multifleckcadmarcampatoflage©®™

I like it, the contrast is good, the colouration works for a temperate environment, one issue though: the pixilation/movement of the pattern is too uniform to work on the human eye try to make more random/splintered as the human eye is adept at seeing/understand uniform patterns/shapes.

Which moves to my next point, the most important part of camouflage is not concealment in the sense of not being seen, but disrupting what your opponent/prey/predator sees. I'll see if I can find some documentation furthering what I'm speaking about, also if you don't mind I'd like to try a revision of your pattern and send it to you via pm.
