Are these rated to the same level of hearing protection as the standard design? They look awesome, I am just weary coming from a career field where I have needed double hearing protection before (muffs over plugs). Pretty bad when you need to jump up to something like the comtacs or sordins just so you can hear because of the plugs already in your ears.

From my experience w/ them, it seems that they provide the same hearing pro as full ear cups. But then again, that was just at a small arms range and a MOUT site. .50's, in aircraft, etc. may be a different story...

Now for the double pro...that's actually a damn good question. I'm not really sure what the answer would be?

Anyone have any ideas?

Take care,
Drifter

This looks to me like a reduction in hearing protection, but I'm interested - I wear dual earpro (by choice, not mandate).
