Here's my precision rifle:

It's an Accuracy International AX 308 with a 20" 7.62x51 barrel. The rifle is equipped with an AI suppressor and a S&B PM2 4-16x50 scope.

What's the trigger pull on it and how do you like the weight?

I paid about 5.000 GBP (including British VAT) for rifle with accessories and about 20.000 SEK (including Swedish VAT) for the scope. (In total 10.800 USD? )

I haven't measured the trigger pull but I guess it's about 3 pounds. The weight of the rifle isn't too extreme. IIRC it's just over 8 kg (17.6 lbs) with the suppressor and the scope.

Very sweet Flinch! Let me know when you're hitting the range next time as I want to see those oval-ish bullet holes you've been talking about :D (Please complete your profile as well)

I guessed 11.5 so I was pretty close. That is one unique looking rifle. How do you like the piece in front of the mag? Ive heard some say its too bulky and adds un-nessessary weight, and some say its more comfortable when shooting standing offhand.

Maybe there is something that I'm not seeing, but is there a reason why the part of the stock in front of the magwell improves shooting standing off-hand, and not strong hand as well?

It is not that unique looking.. :-)

Although the AX 308 isn't a candidate for Precision Sniper Rifle competition, a version of the AX 338 is. All of the candidates for the PSR competition look, more or less, the same. Compare my rifle to the FN Ballista and the Sako TRG M10

To tell the truth, I haven't spent much time shooting this rifle off-hand. But I think the piece, in front of the magazine well, is usefull if I want to shoot with skeletal support. I also like to have a plastic thing that I can hold when it's cold.
It seems like the piece is necessary for the structural integrity of the rifle. It's an attachment point for the handguard (as seen in the AX 338 video) and the recoil lug (of the action).

Eh, Ive liked the AX series from day 1. To me personally it stands out more than others. I know that it's necessary for the structural integrity of the rifle, just Ive heard some mixed feelings about it. I never thought of that, but yeah it would be nicer to hold when its cold.

Here is my offering. It is a Tactical Rifles M40A1 with a US Optics ST-10. She's a .308 with a 20" barrel. The bipod is from Harris. I've had her for about two years now, but fate (and military deployments) have so far prevented me from taking a precision rifle course. Hopefully that will change in September. Anyway, pic time:

I just finished my most recent deployment and as soon as I get home I'll have a few more goodies that she beens wanting, plus a few more accessories to help with long range shooting. Expect more pics.

I guarantee you most guys here haven't even earned the right to wear that title. I definitely think maybe the name of this thread should be changed to "precision rifle thread" or something along those lines.
