T1G, first of I'm totally chilled and don't need your wise ass to tell me that, second I didn't see the title moderator or administrator above your username, so let that task over to us. And no I don't need further discussions.

What's up gearsoc. New here but I have browsed this page before looking for customization ideas. Here is my contribution. Newly constructed helmet cover on a mich 2000. first time on a sewing machine in 20 years probably.

Looks good indeed, but I'm not sure whether this has any real life application except for cosmetic? What was the reasoning behind that mohawk cut vs a regular cover? Ease of installation?

I too would like to know what your are running with that cover. Looks great though and one can never be too skilled on the sewing machine in this game. Cheers!

Realistically it was an experiment in sewing. Simply hadn't done it in a while and a helmet cover was something that i was looking at doing. After thinking about it for a while, I wanted to be able to take it of and on quickly and the loops make for a good place to hang some burlap. It could easily be a quick attach ghillie cover. Like i said, it was more an experiment, It needs to be updated to fit over a 3 hole NVG mount.

May I, or is it not tactical enough?

Team Wendy Backcountry SAR in USCG orange, with Black Diamond Icon Polar.

The specificity of that headlamp is that the remote battery pack is designed to be long enough to be kept inside a jacket in the winter for much longer battery life. So I can keep it mounted that way in the summer, and in the winter have the wire go behind my head (to avoid snags) while keeping the lamp there.

It's not designed to be mounted on USGI shrouds, but hey, it can always be done!

...aaaaaand, I've finally given in and painted it after mulling it over for well over three years. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Damn nice ! I have been thinking about painting my ACH with same color theme ( probably adding bit green also ) after seeing that cool pic of a KSK members lid. But I wonder if its too dark color theme even to the Nordic forests :?

No, you should definitely go for it - I highly doubt it'll be too dark unless your forests consist entirely of birch ;)

If it helps, here's a photo of a similar paintjob (albeit not on a helmet) that includes green:
