Hey Vic,

Sorry for the late reply, just noticed this. The bayonet temples has been working fine, no problem with them falling off. Stability is fine due to the slight curve in the temples. I think the design is originally for pilots, easier to slip them into helmets and headsets I guess.

Cheers/Nordstrom

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't in a rush to get them so it's not a big deal, just wanted more feedback before I did. I was thinking about Ray-Bans until I saw the price and the fact they're no longer made by Bausch & Lomb, which led me to look at the AOs.

Cheers,
Vic

Have Oakleys but don't like them. After some use, the coating on the lens flakes off or has cracks.
It has become a pain.

That has happened with a few other brand of glasses and goggles for me as well. I think it's some type of coating that starts to flake under the right conditions.
Since it's a manufacturer error, that should be covered by the warranty (1 year in the US, 2 in EU).

I had this problem with ESS and WileyX, but never with any of my Oakleys, both SI and civilian.

The stuff that flakes of, is the anti-fog coating. I also found out the hard way. (With Oakley m-frame)
The glasses can not be cleaned with anything that contains alcohol.
Sure is easy to clean them with something with alcohol in it. But not so good for the coating.

Now I only use water or a normal lens cloth or the anti-fog-clots by revision

Both my pair of Smiths say only to use running hot water for cleaning, and wiping to be done with a soft cloth (their anti fog cloth to be specific).

Flea, how do you like the Ignitor lens for the Aegis? I only have them on my Boogies, and basically haven't used them at all. In what conditions do they work and not work?

To be hounest... They are brand new. Only got them in last week.
Hope to give them a try in the first/second week of January.

I think they are nice to use with NVG's. A bit like the amber filter that Wilcox makes.

The normal view is somewhat hippy-pink, I thing that needs some get to use to.

BTW. The Aegis echo itself, I love the fit, especially the thin frame.
Awesome underneath earpro's
