danneskjold that would be like picking up a turd in front of you so you won't step in it, and placing it behind you, to then walk backwards. Same shit only location has changed.

Actually... the turd works a lot better if mounted on the other side... if you only swith the back side. ;)

This way the sling goes over the top of the buttstock, and makes for a more easy transition, compared to what he's got now... If you want to keep the QD on the back.

I run mine, like Sine Pari said, through the stock (VTAC), and on top, only have a QD on the front.

Explain why if it works better on the other side, you have it mounted on top of your butt?

He means that if he would still like to use the QD swivel, it would be a lot better to place it on the right side of the stock rather than on the left.

What Pkekyo said,

I don't get the added benefit of having a QD swivel on the stock... and it doesn't fit as standard on my stock anyway. Some guys like it though, to each their own.

@Pkekyo I know what he meant, the name isn't Rainman ;)

@ddto, yes to each their won. But you are not in the military or LE so you could change your stock and add a QD swivel, so remains the question why not.

Generally while on patrol I had my sling just looped behind my neck with no arms through it, transitions were easy. In country I had the old style SOPMOD stock so the sling I had (a Specops Mamba) was attached to the back of the buttstock because that was the only place the rear attachment would fit.

Sine, I don't like the back swiveling on me, this way, the sling remains in the same position. Not a major difference, just like this set up better. as said to each their own... But this provides me with a more stable platform.

But I started this by talking about the gentleman's rifle. Not my own. Since he is using a swivel, you can't mount those "on top" .. hence my remark.
