Is the quality of ambient sound marginally better between COMTAC I and III?

Just curious,is wrapping the commo antenas with some fabric or camotape or painting it with spraypaint will affect its function in some ways?

Thx

Gents looking to get a Harris 152, but i want to keep my MSA shooters kit. So where can I get a 10 pin to 6 pin adapter, or where can I get a 10 pin PTT lead terminated in 6 pin? Without costing the earth. (last comment is a throw away, I know it will cost!) As always gent your help is appreciated!

The last set up I worked on:

Image

- 90's era customized stereo New Eagle headset
- MSA U94 6 pins PTT
- United Stars PRC148 radio

I had to rewire the headset with a TP120 plug to make it work with the PTTs I own (got it with the cable cut right before the PTT).
As New Eagle seemed to work for the big-skull side of the force, I had to shorten the metallic head band by a few centimeters to fit my baby-sized head. Quite a PITA I must say, cutting and drilling a hardened spring steel is not an easy task.

I am very happy with the confort offert by this system under an helmet, and having your ears free is pretty comfy on open terrain. However, I plan to add some kind of elastic band to get a better retention when using bareheaded.
