I personnaly prefer the V version which I find a bit more low profile when worn with a helmet and also more comfortable without one. The thing with the V version is that your helmet harness will only be in contact with the headset's fabric neckband, whereas the H version will have the cable cramed into your neck. It's a small difference to some, but it's a deal breaker for me.
Plus I hate around-the-ear designs but that's just me.
One last thing, the V version can be reversed (boom mic either on the left or right side with little difference), while the H can't. Not super useful but the day you part with it you can always sell it to a lefty
