Just throwing this out there. It seems to me that a lot of us have United Star and Tri radios as well as the usual collection of civi comm sets. Also we all generally want to use U94's and other RS PTT setups. Been looking about online for a while. There is a lot of try this and do that write ups out there. So here is one for the forum, how about a guide to amp the PTTs ourselves? Most of us are handy with soldering gear.
Im not a techie and I don't have a Lec Eng degree either so Im not great with electrical diagrams as such.

Points:
1. Pic of the internals of a U94 and other common models, before modding.
2. List and pics of parts needed to undertake this?
3.Step by step of what EXACTLY needs to be wired where?
4. How to do a shut off on a NATO 6 pin (I understand its A and E that need to be bridged?).

This could be a nice money saver for a lot of us.

If mods deem this a BS post remove!

SkyEye-Tactical Comms & Surplus on ebay has some built but doesn't have any schematics of them. I did purchase a motorola hirose one for my astro saber and it works great. However was unable to open it. I think they sealed it really good. I will talk with some of my ham club members in order to recreate one hopefully.
