that's what I thought. I'm guessing too you can't purchase one as an individual? Sounded like Joe did though.

I wish they made a maritime cut bump helmet for the commercial market

I think Joe is talking about the normal Ops-core cut.

I hear its coming in a year but I have heard conflicting things that it will or it won't. I don't see what the problem is with releasing it for at least individual LE or MIL. It's not like the material is a super secret blend that needs to be protected for national security lol.

Probably more of a manufacturing standpoint in why they aren't releasing it sooner. Maybe being part of Gentex will speed things up.

talked to ops core at shot and they are projecting commercial availability mid 2014 on the maritime. just thought if share. and they have an xxl fast ballistic for you big heads that still want a occ dial. I can wear an XL but not with occ dial. if its let all the way out it's just a tad small. he said there's a team guy (one guy!) who caused them to mold an xxl.... lol

Joe, you were spot on with this. TNVC has them up on the site!

Really thinking about selling my AirFrame for one. I've got some things I don't like about the Crye and it sure does look appealing.

Yup lol. Ms. Roberts from Ops-core says they are limited to sale to LE and MIL yet I see no indication of that on TNVC's site. Let us see how this plays out.

Someone I know is up at Ops Core now. They are filling a Military order and some of the Multicam ones have been returned by Hydro Dip for assembly. There are also other color Maritimes ready to go to SOCOM customers.

Look at very few being made as they are only making them to order and you have to send LE/MIL creds to get them and they only go out if a End User Certificate is signed. If they show up on EBay it will not be good for the OEM seller nor the original buyer.

Ops does not make them, they order them after they have enough orders to justify changing over the product line at the manufacturing plant - since the molds and helmet composition is different than their other lines.

Ops Core is coming out with some less expensive helmets, and I have seen a Kryptek Nomad Desert Digital Maritime helmet being used by a Tier 1 Army Operator.

Ops would make a plastic molded Maritime if the market was there for a profit, but they say they get little interest in such a thing, so unless people email them - it will never happen.

Out here - Good Hunting

We have not been told these are restricted; just that there is a huge lead time. We have some on order at this time, but they won't be in for a while.

Does the material of which the martime shell is made, differs from that of the normal ops core fast?
Is the ballistic protection better?

Couldnt find any information on it I)

Actually, it depends which FAST you are considering.
Ops-core offers two ballistic solutions, HB26 and HB80 (both PE material).
Their maritime helmet is made of HB80, which is lighter than HB26 but performs a bit differently with certain projectiles (overall lower V0 on fragments and 9mm).
The FAST high cut comes in two flavors: XP (HB26), or ST (which has performances in line with HB80), so the overall ballistic performance is either superior or equal to the maritime, with the added benefit of better coverage, but more weight.

I stand corrected - I was under the impression that they were identical! My apologies for bad information.

Thanks a lot for that information
So its only worth getting a maritime, for better compatibility with headsets? The weight difference isn't that big

From 2015 Ops-core will use only one material compostion for their helmets.

EDITED.

Don't leave it anywhere hot... You'll end up with an expensive paperweight with the protection equivalent of a milk jug.
